What Is Advised PPVUL and How Can It Be a Practice Development Tool for You, the Advisor?
Posted: October 6, 2008
Basically, Advised PPVUL is a planning process using custom designed private placement variable universal life (PPVUL) insurance policies. Advised PPVUL is:
- efficient, low cost, investment oriented, tax deferred, life insurance policies bearing no surrender fee
- an excellent wealth accumulation and wealth transfer planning tool
- not a traditional US life insurance policy (which normally bears high costs, high commissions, large surrender penalties, and often designed to lapse when needed most)

We Believe Advised PPVUL Sets the New Standard in Private Placement, How Can We Say That?
Posted: October 4, 2008
We believe that Advised PPVUL has much more to offer than traditional US life insurance policies. How is that?
Well, quite simply, the entire concept of Advised PPVUL was specifically designed by attorneys to be a flexible and efficient wealth accumulation and transfer tool and at the same time reduce the problem of lapsation. On the other hand, most traditional US life insurance policies are too rigid, expensive, and limited by design. Think about it – when was the last time you were able to speak directly to an attorney or advisor at a US life insurance company to work out a customized life insurance policy?
WMC will help you, the advisor, to become an expert in Advised PPVUL – a life insurance solution that finally offers your clients the privacy, protection, and efficient wealth accumulation and wealth transfer tools they deserve.

Addressing the Dual Stigmas of "Life Insurance" and "Offshore" through Education
Posted: December 26, 2008
The WMC team understands that a stigma exists in the professional community in that traditional US life Insurance has historically been considered to not be a good investment. However, we believe the problem is in the pricing and design of traditional US life insurance products, not life insurance per se, and we strongly believe education about life insurance, and an open mind, can reduce or eliminate the stigma.
Education is equally important regarding the issue of "offshore". While many PPVUL insurance companies are licensed outside of the US for policy design flexibility, many have designed their company to be taxed US ( the so called 953(d) election). Their PPVUL policies are also painstakingly designed to be US tax complaint, policy assets are placed in a segregated account with well recognized US custodians, with well recognized investment advisors managing the assets, and with numerous bank signature authority safeguards in place regarding withdrawal of policy funds from the US custodian or bank. As a result, through education and study, professionals are beginning to ask what is "Offshore" about Advised PPVUL?
